MEGAN + ANDREWS WEDDING - 10/15/2023
You know when we first started, I never thought that I would get to this point. I was scrolling through Facebook. I'm in a few groups where photographers are looking for second shooters or assistants for weddings. Occasionally, if I feel like I meet the criteria, I'll drop my name and website. So I found a post, dropped my website, and bam! I got a phone call.
The primary photographer called me and invited me aboard his team, we talked about the details and "shook hands"
The day came, I left the house at around 8:00 AM, as I had a 3.5 hour drive to Mendocino, CA ahead. I started the day with an Iced White Mocha from Peets Coffee (shoutout to you if you saw this on IG). I hit the road and arrived around 12:30 and got to work.
I started with a few detail shots of the venue and the house where the bride & bridesmaids were getting ready. The lead photographer started capturing the details inside and I got to work on the bride and her party. One of my favorite images, that I snatched off my phone, is Megan's reaction to watching her family open up the gifts she got them. It definitely snugged at my heart strings.
I went over to the groom & the groomsmen while they got ready and exchanged gifts. I was photographing Andrew's details and asked him if he was wearing a watch, he told me he wasn't. Shortly after, Andrew's brother arrived with a gift from Megan, the gift was a gold watch.
The ceremony came quickly and I was there to document it with the other photographer, it was an exciting experience watching them exchange vows and capturing the reaction of the crowd throughout the ceremony.
After the ceremony concluded, we did Megan + Andrew's couples pictures, where I captured some of the photo's below. It was amazing to capture their true love now made official.
We rocked dinner, the reception, and dancing and it was finally time for me to call it a night.
I started my 3.5 hour journey home, it was a long, tiring, but rewarding day.
I can't wait to continue to shoot weddings.
